Students must be able to complete the following skills in order to participate in a lifeguarding course:
A student who does not pass pre-requisites will not be given entry to the lifeguarding course and a refund will not be issued. A referral will be made for the student if they wish, to an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor for lessons to prepare your student to pass their next attempt at pre-requisite training.
Training is demanding both physically and mentally. We understand this. Your instructors have been in the shoes of the participant before. All of the lifeguard instructors with CPR and Aquatics LLC actively maintain their lifeguard certifications and actively lifeguard. They complete the same (although abbreviated as a review course) rigorous training every two years to maintain their certification. They also participate in addition training to maintain their Instructor or Instructor Trainer certifications.
With that said, students are given every opportunity to pass and receive the one on one assistance they need. If a student is still unable to meet course requirements, a referral will be made to a local swim instructor and lifeguard instructor for the student to work on areas they are deficient.
We understand things happen. We provide a full refund to any student who provides at least 72 hour notice that they will not be participating.
Students who do not show up for class will not be given a refund.
Students who are not successful in the class will not be given a refund.
Students who do not complete all parts of the course will not be given a refund.
Exceptions to this policy are made on a case by case basis and the decision is made by CPR and Aquatics LLC's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Instructors (unless your instructor is the COO) do not make financial decisions and will refer you to the appropriate person.
